Terms of Service

Last updated [DATE].

These Terms are an agreement between you and Creation Enterprises Group Inc, doing business as Verafile Corporation ("we", "us"), for the Stillmark service at stillmark.verafilecorporation.com ("Stillmark"). By using Stillmark or paying for a commit, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Stillmark computes fingerprints (SHA-256 hashes) of files on your device and records them, as part of a batch, in a transaction on the Base public network. You receive a proof file and a receipt that can be used to check that the files existed, unchanged, no later than the time of that transaction. Your files are not uploaded to us.

2. What a proof does and does not show

A proof is evidence that particular bytes existed by a particular time. It does not establish authorship, ownership, originality, truth of content, identity, or a signature, and it involves no identity check, witnessing, or official act. We do not promise that any court, agency, or other party will accept a proof for any purpose.

3. Your responsibilities

You must be 18 or older. You must have the right to use the files you fingerprint, and you will not use Stillmark for anything unlawful. You are responsible for keeping your original files and your proof files; we cannot recover or reconstruct a file from its fingerprint.

4. Price and payment

A proof bundle (one commit of one or more files) costs the price shown on the page and at checkout, processed by Stripe. A commit is recorded only after payment succeeds. Refunds are described in our Refund policy.

5. Permanence

Records on the Base network are public and permanent and cannot be removed by us or anyone else. Only a batch root is recorded there; it does not reveal your file names or fingerprints.

6. Free demo

The free demo records on a test network (Base Sepolia). Demo proofs are marked DEMO and have no evidential value. We may limit or withdraw the demo at any time.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Stillmark running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. A proof you already hold can be checked without our service using the open-source verifier and the public network.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Stillmark is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Our total liability for any claim relating to Stillmark is limited to the amount you paid for the commit concerned. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses.

9. Intellectual property

You keep all rights in your files. The Stillmark service and its code belong to Creation Enterprises Group Inc. The Stillmark verifier is open source under the MIT License.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; the date above shows the latest version. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE]. Contact: [email protected].
